MORE INFO
(in case your time isn’t valuable)
-
As directors, they take a collaborative, performance-first approach, working closely with artists, animators, and collaborators to create an environment where ideas can evolve naturally. As producers, they’ve developed a practical understanding of pipelines, problem-solving, and the day-to-day realities of getting something finished—experience that comes from being fully responsible for their own work.
-
As writers, they have slightly different instincts, however, that contrast has developed into their greatest strength. Joel has always been drawn to slice-of-life comedy; grounded, character-driven moments that find humor in the small, human details. Alex, on the other hand, gravitates toward action; momentum, scale, and the kind of set pieces that pull an audience to the edge of their seat.
-
When they collaborate, those sensibilities create a product that is greater than the sum of its parts. Their work blends sharp, relatable humor with dynamic, visually engaging storytelling, creating stories that feel intimate, yet expansive. A quiet character moment effortlessly veers into unexpected excitement. A world-ending sequence is framed with personality and play.
Alex & Joel share the belief that a creator’s core responsibility is to entertain, regardless of genre or subject matter. They continue to grow their work through a passion for the creative process, energized by storylines that transport a viewer to new worlds and hear new voices.
